Lots of people at my gym are breaking in new grips now too. I got new velcro grips. To break in new grips: chalk them really good, and do lots of swings - swings are really good for breaking in your grips! It does say in the grips order papers that you're not supposed to use water on your grips, but does anyone not use water on their grips?

I use the flex metal kind too. The sand ones are good in that they don't poke at you like those weights with those removable tube weights in them.

Sometimes the roller shoes can be like when you slip on water on the kitchen floor and you have to 'catch' yourself.

I just heard on the radio last night that doctors are recommending that you wear a helmet and pads when wearing those roller shoes and heeling (you know those shoes with those wheels on the heels), like in rollerblading b/c of all the injuries they have been causing.

There are red floor mats common too I think, maybe more common in Europe, in USA it's blue or some shade of blue.

scratchy mats are bad too! once they get scratchy from being so old, they are so not good landing mats either, besides getting all scratched up if you hit it! good for piling in some 8-inchers in the pit though.
