Nastia is like a ballerina tumbling on the beam and floor! Shawn tumbles on the beam like it's the floor! Great stuck landings for Nastia!! On vault, NBC did a quick shot of her dad/coach Valeri, he was really happy! Stuck 1.5 Yurchenko!

Cool hairstyle picts! I like to do ponytail or braid. If I do a bun, first I put it in a ponytail and then wrap it around in a bun, so that if the bun comes out, it will still be in a ponytail. And sometimes, ponytail with a braid, and then bun.

That is totally an easy category for gymnasts! :D Also, flying rings before: Former apparatus & events
Rope Climb Further information: Rope climbing Generally, competitors climbed either a 6m (6.1m = 20 ft in USA) or an 8m (7.6m = 25 ft in USA), 38mm (1.5") diameter natural fiber rope for speed, starting from a seated position on the floor and using only the hands and arms.[ Read More... ]

I was flipping through the channels on tv today and on the Jeopardy tv game shoe they were doing gymnastics topics! :D Rope used to be a gymnastics Olympic sport and gymnastics with a ribbon is rhythmic gymnastics. We would have rocked that category lol. :D More of The Rope Climb Competitive Rope Climbing The Last Traditional Gymnastic Climbing Event ->
Climbers ascended[ Read More... ]

Here's a montage that has really good video clips, showing Shawn conditioning, doing flexibility, practicing and competing. You can get a good idea of what she does. She does press handstands with two floor bars vertical, like doing them on p-bars. "Shawn Johnson. Ready to be Extraordinary!" The first song is Hilary Duff's "To the beat of my heart"; it's nice and[ Read More... ]

That's a pretty outfit! Shawn Johnson had a more intricate hair style in competitions before than a regular ponytail like she does now, with either the side part or not - check it out here in this video montage with clips of her from 2006 and 2005, at time :09 - it's kind of like the Parkettes braid style, with a side part to ponytail: (you view the side and back views of that air style[ Read More... ]

They use a Power Tumbling Rod Frame Floor strip like here: http://www.rossathletic.com/rod-floors-rod-frames.htm
Tubular fiberglass rods ensure no "lock-up" when tumbling Each steel frame section is 8" (20cm) high, 6' (1.8M) wide and 4' (1.2M) long Rods are covered by a layer of 1-3/8" (35mm) foam backed carpet, over a layer of 2" (50mm) polyethylene foam (not included) "

Is the tumbling stipr the tumblers use like in the World Championships tumbling competition different than the one used in artistic gymnastics floor excercise - besides it being a strip instead of a square of course. Looks bouncier. Like maybe the tumbling strip we use in practice? Higher easier tumbling.
