The article is on Lyndee Jon Tofpi, who won the All-Around at the Level 6 New Mexico State Gymnastics Meet in Albuquerque.

Shorts are a good idea for gymnastics, as an option for girls, instead of having the rules for the girls that leotards have to be such and such distance from the hips, etc. The sport should 'catch up' like the other sports have. Totally!! Makes sense to wear those bike shorts kind - what would the reason not to be? - that it affects the line of the gymnast? As John Stossel puts it on 20/20...give me a break!

I have this pair of black bike shorts kind of that I bought from sports authority. They're really nice. The brand is "aspire". Does anyone elses wear those?

I wear the gk brand - I like them cuz they're velvet and the short sporty kind - works real good for gymnastics...which is what they really are made for! :D

At Tyson American Cup Finals (3/3/07): Ukraine's Daria kind of had a 'wardrobe malfunction' I guess - or maybe her leotard wasn't fit correctly...on the floor, her leotard from the back kind of looked like a thong leotard...hope she doesn't feel bad about it...that's why NEW RULE SHOULD BE - BIKE-LIKE SHORTS ALLOWED!! shorts should totally be optional for practice and for competition - it's pretty obvious that the older girls do prefer it - the Romanian girls especially during the gymnastics meet they have shorts on right before they go up on the event and then just take it off right before they compete - they were even in shorts in that first post from the Aarhus World Championships for their team picture! or at least they shouldn't be so picky on where the leotard should be on the hip and allow it to be lower, Carly Patterson really wore her leotards really high, but they were ok on her, she didn't have Daria's problem with her leo probably because Carly's was better fitted for her.

the switch to allow the girls to compete in tank leotards rather than just long sleeve leotards was a good change, now time for allowing girls to compete in shorts too!
