Ya, it totally helps to have club gymnasts on your high school team, especially an elite gymnast! I like club gymnastics more, so I don't do hs team - the coaches for hs team are a little unknowledgeable, it's almost like it's cheerleading. Here's some more articles on hs: "HHS gymnasts healthier as state meet arrives" - http://www.hutchnews.com/sports/stories/gymnastics110406.shtml[ Read More... ]

ya, that's a lot of practice your hs has! 3hrs a day, 6 days a week, that's almost like the optionals in club gymnastics (with 4 hrs a day, 6 days a week)!

no, I'd miss the y too much. Plus, I have cheerleading practice and it's really hard to balance both. The coach isn't my favorite either. The hs parctices 3 hrs a day 6 days a week. W/ cheerleading and ap world history, I'd be burned out in less than a month.

Some hs have really bad programs, but not ours! We have a combined team w/ all 3 hs in the city. Last year they were state champs. I'm not on it, but it's well-known that you have to be at least a level eight with giants if you want a guaranteed varsity spot.

Howell high school wins North crown. http://newstranscript.gmnews.com/news/2006/1025/Sports/114.html
It seemed inevitable. From the start, when newcomers Austyn Fobes and Brianna Ecklof performed their first gymnastic routines for Howell, they elevated the program to a new level. The team went from outsiders to the one to beat in the Shore Conference A North Division.
The elite gymnast doing high school gymnastics, in the news again - their high school is doing really well, obviously, right?!! :D They are currently unbeatable, by like a few points in the meets seems. So there's not a big huge difference in the scores, but they have been winning. Here's the link: http://newstranscript.gmnews.com/news/2006/1004/Sports/067.html

We're getting a lot of girls on our high school team from the club gymnastics....it really does help to have club experience as high school gymnastics really does not have much practice team. Here's an article on an elite girl doing high school gymnastics for her high school: http://www.nj.com/hssports/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/1159330803288860.xml&coll=1 . Here's how the new scoring system works (you can test out your math at the Worlds!): Score = Difficulty_Score + Execution_Score Difficuly Score ====>>>> 1) Add up the values for the 10 hardest skills performed (A=0.1 / B=0.2 / C=0.3 / D=0.4 / E=0.5 / F=0.6 / G=0.7) ->7 points possible here 2) Then add 0.5 for each of the 5 Element Group Requirements fulfilled (these don't have to be[ Read More... ]
