No. 1 Cal Men's Water Polo Falls to No. 4 Stanford, 10-9, in Sudden-Death Overtime
Cal's Zac Monsees scored a goal with 59 seconds left in the second, three-minute overtime period to force sudden-death, but Stanford's Janson Wigo countered with a goal with 2:29 in the sudden-death overtime period to lead No. 4-ranked Stanford to a 10-9 victory over the No. 1-ranked Golden Bears Friday night at the Avery Aquatic Center. Cal, which had won nine straight matches before Friday's heartbreaking defeat, fell to 24-3 overall and 7-1 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. The Cardinal improved to 16-6 and 5-3 in league play.
