Senior Martin Maric successfully defended his NCAA West Regional championship from 2008 when he took top honors in the discus in the 2009 competition Saturday at Hayward Field on the Oregon campus. Maric captured California's lone regional title, as recorded a season-best throw of 200-11 (61.24m).
