Cal's Magdalena Lewy Makes U.S. Olympic Team in the Marathon California track and field assistant coach Magdalena Lewy placed second in the women's marathon in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials Sunday in Boston, Mass. With the second-place finish, Lewy will be headed to Beijing, China for the Olympics later this summer, as the top three runners qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team. Lewy, who is in her seventh season coaching at Cal, clocked a 2:30:19 to take second overall. Deena Kastor won the race at 2:29:35.
