Former California All-American Dana Vollmer clocked a personal-best time of 56.94 to tie for fifth place in the 100-meter butterfly final at the 2009 FINA Swimming World Championships on Monday night in the Stadia del Nuoto in Rome. The Granbury, Texas, product and 2009 NCAA Swimmer of the Year, who completed her Golden Bears career this past season, tied with Brazil's Gabriella Silva for fifth. Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom won the 100 butterfly in a world-record time of 56.06.
