Former Cal standout Milorad Cavic, who won the silver medal in the 100-meter butterfly at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, captured the gold medal in the 50-meter butterfly Monday, July 27 at the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome. Cavic, a top competitor for the Golden Bears from 2003-06, is the second Cal men's swimmer to win gold at the World Championships when touched at 22.67 in the 50 fly.
