Adrian Wins 100 Free; Cal Men's Swimming Places Fourth at NCAA Championships
California sophomore standout Nathan Adrian won his second individual event of the 2009 NCAA Men's Swimming Championship, capturing the 100 free in an American record time of 41.80. On Thursday, the Golden Bear Olympic gold medalist won the 50 free in an American record 18.71. Another highlight for Cal in the final day of the NCAA meet was junior Sean Mahoney placing second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:52.34. The Bears, under the direction of second year head coach David Durden, finished with 350 points to place fourth at the NCAA championships for the second year in a row. More...
