No. 4 Cal Wins Husky Invitational
Fourth-ranked California recorded two NCAA automatic qualifying times and five NCAA B qualifying times on Saturday night and won the Husky Invitational in Federal Way, Wash., with 1442 points. The Golden Bears, who won three event finals on the last day of the meet, edged second-place USC by 127 points. Among Cal's Saturday victories was sophomore Nathan Adrian's in the 100-yard freestyle. The 2008 U.S. Olympic gold medalist became the fourth-fastest 100 freestyler in Cal history with his NCAA A time of 41.83. The Bears ended the meet by winning the 400-yard freestyle relay in an automatic qualifying time of 2:50.15, making the quartet of sophomore Graeme Moore, Adrian, sophomore Josh Daniels and senior Bennett Clark the fourth-fastest 400-free relay in school history.
