No. 11 Cal Men's Swimming Falls at No. 3 Stanford, 132.5-110.5 The No. 11-ranked California men's swimming and diving team fell to No. 3-ranked and Bay Area rival Stanford, 132.5-110.5, Saturday at the Avery Aquatics Complex on the Stanford campus. The Golden Bears, whose dual meet record slipped to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the Pac-10, were led by junior diver Sam Helvie, who captured both the one-meter and three-meter boards. Cal also had a pair of individual winners - freshman Daniel Smith in the 500 free and sophomore Sean Mahoney in the 200 breast. The Bears placed first in the meet's final event as well with a time of 2:59.29 in the 400 free relay (seniors William Copeland, Jernej Godec, Joe Whittington, Eric Dunipace).
