Liliana Alvarez will be the first freshman from UC Davis to compete in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships during the Aggies' Division I era. The national championship meet begins March 17-19 at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas. Alvarez will compete in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. She won the title for the 100 and 200 breaststroke and was a part of the 400-medley relay that won the conference championship. The freshman from San Anselmo, Calif. had a significant contribution to the team's overall victory at the conference championship and will look to further her athletic accomplishments in Texas next week.
