hey i just went to my doctor and he said that my pelvis is expanding and thats why im having major hip pains...
So they are growing pains then? Did your doctor say you can do whatever skills you can in the gym that don't hurt or you can handle, or did he restrict your practice himself? You should make sure, cuz you don't want to make things worse, or ruin your body[ Read More... ]
Also, for the tuck and the layout, don't counter the backwards motion by you going towards your knees/legs - you want to bring your knees to your chest, not the other way around. That could be it too.
That's a good one!

If you go just up and down and not back, it means you're not setting back and/or also your position at the end of your flipflip or roundoff or whatever you're doing before might not be correct - for connecting flip flop flip flop you want to kind of get your feet under after each one, for flip flop back flip you want your feet more out and not under you know. For the setting for your back[ Read More... ]

Is the beam surface good - or is it worn out? That can make a difference too.

You want to land flat-footed, and bend your knees a little to absorb the shock for your round-off on beam - it's kind of different than round-off on floor because on floor you want to land on your toes to rebound/connect to your next skill! Are your hips square with the beam? Because if you land incorrectly that will hurt your feet also! Keep tight, lift your chest up as you are landing your[ Read More... ]

hi :D Are you landing on your toes? You want to land on flat feet, unlike on floor. First practice with one of those small thin mats for putting over the beam, and try landing on that - that should take away the stinging while you practice it. Also, I think keeping tight and strong helps with the stinging. I put chalk on my feet for beam also, but that's for the ripping and sanding off of[ Read More... ]

it depends on how long the practices are, cause i drive for 15 minutes to 2 1/2 hour practices..thats not really bad but if ur driving a long distance it might be eaiser if the class was at least 3 hours

I think most people put one hand in front of the other for backhandspring on the beam. Practice it in easier places before you put it on the beam to get the hands part right - chalk on your hands/feet is a good idea when you practice it on floor, to check where your hands hit the floor. If you feel you're going straight up/down, it could be because of timing, and you're not pushing back[ Read More... ]

(Here's the previous topic post http://www.gymchat.com/messageboards/viewtopic.php?t=910 gotchalk35 is talking about)
i cant get my hands on in the right position
Which position do you get? Practice it more on the floor on the line first - put chalk on your hands to make sure your hands hit the floor the way you want them to. Are you doing the one hand in front of the other way[ Read More... ]
