Sounds like he didn't have much confidence to score well to medal at the 2008 Olympics here, saying "Now I'm looking at 2012, like I've always said".

age restrictions are a bit wierd. they dont have them in other sports and its not fair just to have it in gymnastics. the higher the age is raised, the less popular this sport will get. irts so nice to have a sport where the best are just little girls. the best gymnast ever was her best at 14, that says a lot. lifting the limit to 18 is nothing short of insane, if swimmers are competing at 14,[ Read More... ]

it was after nadia came along that things changed. she was smaller and maybe not as strong as the other older girls, but in gymnastics its relative strength that matters. young girls bodies are better suited to the sport and the smaller you are the easier and safer gymnastics is to do and learn. after all, the best gymnastics is the one that looks like childs play! gym is for girls, not women,[ Read More... ]

i like that gymnastics is a lot like dance AND a little like a fashion show. i mean, i love flipping around, but i love that gymnastics is about prettiness and style aswell as athletic prowess! it adds so much to it that other sports dont have. sometimes i wear a little mascara to practice but we are not aloud heavy make up for competitions

more than anything the age restriction is unfair. i am not sure that the officials realise that if a gymnast is 15 and misses the olympics she may have retired by the time the next one comes around. do they realise, that gymnasts dream of being elites for years and years and often, due to the combination of the ade restriction and the early retirement age for such a demanding sport, they spend[ Read More... ]

yessss, i agree with bela " OPEN IT UP"! if they want to find a way to make sure the gymnasts are mentally ready, find a new way cause age can have little to do with it. i think either no age restrictions or minimum age 13 if they must. its not like if they change it everyone will be 12, but you will be seeing some more 14 and 15 year olds out there. many girls of this age are more mature than[ Read More... ]
