Larson led seven laps and finished fifth in his Sprint Cup Series debut at Pocono Raceway, completing an impressive weekend that also saw him dominate an ARCA event. Since the Nationwide Series does not compete at Pocono, Larson had never been to the 2.5-mile track until a test here the week before the race. Pocono is the only oval track that requires drivers to shift gears at speed, and Larson's inexperience in that area led to a blown engine.
