You got to have good abs and arm muscles for the kip. V-ups and lifting up weights up and down while standing are good exercise for it...and also the wheel roller (it's like $10 or $15 at Big5 I think, but maybe your gym has one).

I think level 4 to level five was the hardest. I did level 5 for 3 years and I still havent gone to level 6. Now im a prep intermediate. I think the kip was the hardest and going over the table for the first time.
