(Here's the previous topic post http://www.gymchat.com/messageboards/viewtopic.php?t=910 gotchalk35 is talking about)
i cant get my hands on in the right position
Which position do you get? Practice it more on the floor on the line first - put chalk on your hands to make sure your hands hit the floor the way you want them to. Are you doing the one hand in front of the other way for beam? Don't rush to put it on the high beam, do the steps like in that previous topic post.
and i feel that when i jump back im going straight p and down and not straight out...and i undercut =[
Maybe you're not bending your knees and/or your timing is off for the arms/legs push. Do you start with your arms up by your ears way? Do you have the same problem on standing back handspring on floor? Try watching the girls that have it good on the beam - a lot of times that really helps, and try to copy them! What does your coach say?

I think most people put one hand in front of the other for backhandspring on the beam. Practice it in easier places before you put it on the beam to get the hands part right - chalk on your hands/feet is a good idea when you practice it on floor, to check where your hands hit the floor. If you feel you're going straight up/down, it could be because of timing, and you're not pushing back enough, and your arms aren't going back enough/aren't opening your shoulders. To know for sure, you should ask your coach what you're doing wrong; did they tell you? You could also take a video of it so that you can also look at what you're doing yourself along with your coach. Do you have one posted?
