Thanks for the email reminder! :D The gymnastics competition coverage was like almost over, and I was like, didn't the guys compete there too? lol And then they put up a couple of dismounts of Paul Hamm's routine, and his mess-up on his pommel horse, and that's it for the guys! Nastia Liukin is so cool! She's so nice, she was the first one to go up to Samantha Shapiro and congratulate her after her floor routine where the music stops after like a few seconds and the gymnasts/coaches/audience clap for her music. Pretty hard to score on artistry when you can't judge on the music matching choreography. Tough landing on the low bar for Canada's Peng Peng Lee on her pak salto full (named after 2004 USA Olympic gymnast Mohini Bhardwaj) - she misses her left hand and slams into the low bar, but pulls up good (good arm muscle!) - .8 points deduction for her mistake though. Jana Bieger is strong! 'Not the ballerina' as Martha Karolyi puts it, but she's in the mix for the USA women's team for 2008 Beijing Olympics! Rebecca Bross (also coached by Nastia's dad Valeri Liukin) goes aggressive on bars, going for 2012 Olympics, she's too young for the 2008 (not 16 yet). Nice back head thrust for Australian gymnast Dasha Joura! Nastia does her new skill on beam with the one leg/arabesque landing - going for it being named after her after competing it in the Olympics! They said Australian retired elite gymnast Allana Slater rifle shooting? Here's Mohini at 2004 Olympic Trials doing pak full: Looks like she does it more in 'slow motion' than Peng Peng Lee - maybe she needs to slow it up a bit/not rush through and push the skill so much - looks like Peng Peng Lee also over flew the pak part. You can check it on youtube now if you missed the TV coverage, NewNewNastiaFan1001 put the coverage online - I'll also add it to the Videos thread here: http://www.gymchat.com/messageboards/viewtopic.php?t=33074 Check out the results/other info here: http://www.gymchat.com/messageboards/viewtopic.php?t=29477 Like the boys part!
