Doping also in rhythmic gymnastics, again banned diuretic that can be used to mask steroids, same one too: furosemide "Russian gymnast banned for Games" - http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/more/05/07/gymnast.ap/index.html?eref=si_more Anastasia Guseva will miss the Beijing Olympics as she is banned until November (for one year, from November 2006-2007, tested positive for the diuretic furosemide at the 2006 World Gymnasiade in Athens June 2006) and will miss the qualifying event for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, which is the rhythmic world championships in Patras, Greece on September 19-23, as the FIG announced Monday in a statement. You wouldn't really think doping like that would happen in rhythmic gymnastics would you? Seems like its more flexibility than strength especially in rhythmic gymnastics.

Ya doping in rhythmic gymnastics seems weird; you do need to be fit and strong for it, but compared to artistic gymnastics and bars and high bar and vault, and tumbling 5 tumbling passes with double flips sure you would be surprised of the doping in the rhythmic gymnastics compared to artistic gymnastics.

Rhythmic gymnastics looks like more flexibility than strength... someone made a youtube video in response to people who say rhythmic gymnastics is easy (people can have different meanings when they say 'easy' though): Rhythmics is NOT easy! Follow the link to read people's comments! related: rhythmic gymnastics- the training I like artistic gymnastics - the excitement and adrenaline rush rocks!! Love to fly!!!
