CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In its first home meet of the 2009 campaign, the MIT men's gymnastics team recorded a total of 309.05, which was enough to defeat the University of Vermont (171.35) but it could not overcome the standard of 326.05 set by Springfield College on Saturday. The Engineers claimed third through sixth place in the all-around, with Brett Lazarus leading the way (78.35), followed by Boris Rasin (78.0), Jake Shapiro (77.3), and Tom Caldwell (75.2).
