Paul Hamm (Team Chevron) gets 1st on floor on the AA competition Wednesday night. Good job! Paul and Morgan Hamm competed just on floor and pommel horse, as they said. Paul: floor: 6.200 A score, 9.500 = 15.700 1st place pommel: 5.500 A score, 8.350 = 13.850 15th Tie Morgan: floor: 6.300 A score, 8.650 = 14.950 8th place pommel: 5.100 A score, 8.600 = 13.700 18th Tie Higher A score, then lower execution score, and vice versa, but with more practice they can get them both up high. AA Top 3: David Durante (Team Chevron) 89.500 Alexander Artemev (aka Sasha) (Team Chevron) 89.500 Guillermo Alvarez (Team Chevron) 89.450 Team Chevron did well. Only 5 hundredths of a point between 1st and 3rd. Artemev's plan of taking out some of the hard skills he wasn't comfortable with and concentrating on executing the skills well and having 6 for 6 worked (see Josh's post on that article 5 posts up).

I know Neal Thomson from IGA, he got his basics there - that was such a great gym; you don't find gyms that feel more like a family club rather than a business after just $ so easily.

Nastia had a really hard bars routine that she fell on her dismount and still made 1st. Nastia prob. had lots of time on bars with her ankle injury, but not much for practicing the dismount, to not aggravate her ankle.
