This one is obviously just for gymnasts The Athlete and the Audience You dance like no one's watching, Even though you know they are. You know you're smile's fake, Yet from know ing this they're far. You're doing lots of tricks; while playing some too, But they don't seem to mind; they wouldn't dare to boo. You're being a show off, usually despised, Yet they paid money, just to see your prize. You were getting nervous, And were positive the y saw, Yet as you saw them watching you, You could tell they found no flaw. As you were twisting, turning, flying, They could not see how hard you were trying. As you were gliding around the bar, They were close, yet so far. As you kept your balance on the beam, and looked so very poised, They could not make a single noise. As you picked up all that speed, and flew to unknown heights, They cheered so loudly, just as you like. You stuck all your landings and hit all your routines. They sat, then stood, and never missed a beat. You slid into your sweats, And became one of them. Then sat and watched your friend, And saw it start again. I'll just post one at a time, b/c some are a little on the long side. Hope you enjoy them!

JUST KEEP FLYING I promise to push myself, I promise to try. I'll always let go So I can just fly. Determination, I've got it no doubt, But wehn I show it There's no need to brag, to shout Perseverance, I will never give up. Never stop trying, stop flying Or be knocked down, like a little cup. I'll just go for it, Because I'd never know What I could do, If I didn't let go. It's not how well I do, It's that I can say You know what, I did my best today. * I worte this poem when I was scared to death of flyaways. When I shared it in my English clas, my teacher commented on the deep philosophy on life represented. GO FIGURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there's some girls (and some boys also) in our gym that are scared of their flyaways on bars, so they're working on it with their coach, and prob. compete it in a month in the second season of level 6, or whatever they call the spring season for it. one girl switched from another gym to ours and competed level 6 and passed it in her old gym but has a messed up flyaway and is still scared of it, so she has to relearn it the right way instead of just letting go of the bar with no technique, and then she's competing level 7. (she would let go of the bar way too soon and under the bar) how's ur flyaway now?
