If a club or business is like that, chances are they're not going to care about that and aren't going to change their mind, but you can try. They will probably just say it's not about the money and make something else up. And then treat you worse also if the information comes from you. After all, they're a business, not a club. that is an interesting tool! so, for anyone going to a gym that keeps turning off the lights or the fans or the heaters, you could check out how much the gym is really saving, maybe it will change their mind on how to run their business (so you would call it more a club than a business :D ). maybe turning the lights or fans or heaters on/off costs more than leaving it on when it's necessary -[ Read More... ]

If you're wondering how much it costs to turn on a fan or turn on the lights or turn on the heater, here's a good link: http://www.energyguide.com/ha/appliancecalcres.asp?ReferrerID=154 direct from PG&E. I tested it on a 20" fan that has a 330 Watt motor; it came to $0.044/hour. Good to know info!
