Maybe the USA women's artistic gymnastics team takes longer to choose their team because they have more gymnasts to choose from? Or they just like to take their time and are in no rush lol. It might make a difference also in regards to scheduling that on average the men's team gymnasts are older than the women's team gymnasts.

The 2008 Pacific Rim Championships are coming up March 28-30 in San Jose California, at San Jose State University (men's and women's gymnastics)/McEnery Convention Center (rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline). Slovenia has 7 members on its Worlds team named, in case one has to substitute in for Mitja Petkovsek. He dislocated his left hand middle and ring finger while training a new element, on Sept. 15. He's still in the process of healing, but the x-ray shows no damage to the bone or ligaments.
