Last night Airborne gymnastics club in Santa Clara, CA was on the the NBC Olympics news coverage! The funny part was that the second time-round the news reporter was video taping in the club during the coverage, she was saying how all the gymnasts work so hard in the gym, and the video is showing the girls just in line waiting for their turn, lol. it looked like the compulsory levels. I think everyone does it in the gym too, during practice routines, so it is just part of it, not distracting. It's more like background noise, and you're concentrating on what you're doing. The crowd was really loud during Jordyn Wieber floor routine in the team finals at the London Olympics! You could just barely hear her floor music on the NBC coverage through all the cheers.

Alicia had a lot of power and height in her floor routine, and did great. She had 3 years off on that event. She did go 4 times out of bounds on her passes, but she will probably smooth that out for Visas. Her teammate Ally Raisman followed her routine and had a lot of power and height on floor too. 14.83 for her floor. I was just watching college gymnastics on tv (see thread: LSU vs. Georgia Gym Dogs at Athens Georgia, http://www.gymchat.com/messageboards/viewtopic.php?t=22864 on that) and it's so funny how theykeep displaying the gymnasts' height next to their name lol. Which other sport does that lol. :D The shortest was 4'7", the tallest I think 5'7", both from the LSU team.

The SEC (southeastern championships) LSU vs. Georgia was on tv today on ESPN2. It was awesome to watch. Some cool things: One of the girls did the moonwalk on the beam, to a Michael Jackson song I think - it went with the music. Ya, music on beam, with words, lol.
