You could be an excellent rhythmic gymnast with your background. You sound very flexible and a background in ballet is probably the single biggest advantage. Don't worry about your age, you will progress quickly because of your background and because you learn things more easily at 16 than you do at 6. You mean refer you to go to a sports medicine doctor for more advice, who's in the specialization, or do you mean tell you to do like physical therapy stuff instead of sports? It's good to go to a sports medicine doctor who is an orthopedist, they can give you good advice. Not necessarily just tell you not to do something.

Thankyou, Ballet is on mondays for an hour so i just skip an hour on the bike that day. yes homework is done sometime after nine or at school . I cant really talk to the doctor they just tell me to stop working out or refer me to sports medicine. Im not really supposed to be doing anything i have ligament relaxation (not to sure just m akes me weirdly stretchy/back pains) and some joint issues[ Read More... ]

And then 9pm homework? :D When do you do ballet then? It really depends on how you feel on whether you're pushing it too much. I think most or all elite gymnasts take at least one day off in the week to rest, or they do something light and fun, like swimming - you don't have to like sit on the couch and watch tv, you know. Yup! Oversplits is when you do the splits over 180, so like your front leg or back leg or both legs are on something higher when you are in splits. Don't worry, you'll learn the names fast when you're in the gym. Usually gyms call the class right before the team level Advanced. Thanks so much I have my splits yes. What are over splits? I put my front leg or back leg up on the cuch and do the splits, or both on 2 seperate chairs and hang in the splits is that it? I can do quite a few flexible things w/ my body tht ive seen on rhythmics videos but i dnt know wht they are called

Nice video frontaerial! I posted one too. Building cardio is good. You need stamina for your routines. Just stretch a lot before and after, splits, oversplits too if you got splits, and kicks. Cool! Don't wear hanging jewelry. Wear a leotard, tight shorts and shirt. In the advanced class they'll probably be working on learning more higher level tricks. Do you have your splits / over-splits from ballet? You'll get more flexible from working on it, so don't worry about it. Hey :D In artistic gymnastics (the one with the bars, beam, floor, vault) we do lots of cardio and conditioning, build lots of muscle and also build flexibility too. Just stretch really well before running and also after, and also do kicks - to the front, side, and back on each leg - that really helps a lot too, and to have long muscles, not short and tight. Hey, I stretch everyday for atleast a few hours, but I also run 3 miles everyday. Will this affect my flexibility at all, if so how do i work in cardio along with stretching without making my legs tight? There are two 12 yr. olds and a ten year old in it now. She said that I could just join in and let the coach see what i've got, and if this is the right place for me. Hi! Sure, I think you can get a class for rhythmic gym. Ballet will help a lot, and that you're very flexible, so you probably will even start at a higher level class than beginner. Hello, I'm sixteen and very flexible, i've been in ballet since i was seven. Is it too late for me to try out rhythmics? I have no problem with pain and working hard and long, im willing to do what it takes. Do you think that i could get classes at my age? Annelie
