Glasses or contact lenses when doing gymnastics
Hi, What do you do if you wear glasses and want to do gymnastics? Do you wear contact lenses? Does chalk go in your eyes, and is it bad? Which kind do you wear - hard (gas permeable) or soft contact lenses and how is it with the chalk/chalk dust in the gym? Thanks!

Some of the gymnasts choose to take off their glasses for gymnastics practice, if their number for their glasses isn't too high and they are stll comfortable without glasses. The young boys and girls that need their glasses on use the bands on their glasses to keep it on. But if you can wear contact lenses and are old enough for them, etc. it is much easier than glasses especially for gymnastics. Soft lenses are good, chalk or dust that goes into them is kind of just like if it goes in your eyes if you're not wearing contact lenses.

Contact lenses? are they safe?

Contact lenses are safe for pretty much everyone. I wear them and the only time I have a problem is when I don't change them every couple weeks. When they are on your eye, they stay there. They are designed to stay on your eyes.

I wear them all day, but I'm allergic problems. Just keep your hands clean before they enter and exit and a new pair in about 2-3 weeks. I think it is difficult at first, but once you get the more you will use to them. And trying not to sleep in the two is how you can become plagued.

contact lenses, they are safe, I don't see why you would refuse to use them. They are way more comfty to use than regular glasses
