Answers

1) After you have signed up for your Club Teams Website, you automatically get a confirmation email (sent to the email address you provided). Click on the link in that email, or copy/paste the link into your web browser if it's not clickable (link may not be clickable for AOL users). This will take you to the registration page where you can set up your subscription via secure PayPal - just click on the "Get Club Membership" button there and then follow the PayPal instructions. Then, you're all set to start using your Club Teams Website! No initial payment is necessary to start your Club Membership -- FREE one month membership, try it out!

Back to Questions

2) There is a one month FREE Gym Chat club membership; $39 per month afterwards (prices subject to change). There is no other hidden costs -- no web hostings or domain costs!

Back to Questions

3) That's right, no web design or programming experience required, even to make your own custom style for your webpages or update your content! To make changes and update your Club Teams Website, go to your Styles, Content, and Account Control Panels. You can access these pages from these respective Edit Styles, Edit Content, and Edit Account icons located right below your links menu on your webpages. You must first be logged on to have admin access to your pages; if you are logged on but are on someone else's Player Webpages or Club Teams Web, click the "My Account" link at the top-right of the page. On these control panel pages, you just fill out the forms and click the update buttons and all the coding is done for you! You can manage the content of your Calendar, Multimedia, and Message Board pages directly from those pages...."X" icons are for deleting the content, pencil icons are for editing the content.

Back to Questions

4) Yes. There is one admin logon (called the superadmin) for the whole Club Team Website, that has all access and all admin authority. You can assign users and admins for your Club Calendar and admins may remove individual messages from the Message Board using your set Message Board password.

Back to Questions

5) Yes, you can access your Club Teams Website directly using http://gymchat.com/username for the URL address in your web browser.

Back to Questions

6) Sure! You can change your Club Teams Website Username any number of times, make it suit your club! After having picked one on the Club Teams Website Sign Up Form, you may easily change it from your Account Control Panel page (just click on the "Edit Account" button from your webpages).

Back to Questions

7) Your club players can connect their Player Webpages to the Club Teams Web by inputting the set Club Connect Code (which you tell them) into their Account Control Panel. Their profile picture gets displayed onto the Club "Player Pages" page and they may choose to activate their club link on their own Player Webpages using the "Activate Club Link" option on their Account Control Panel. You set the Club Connect Code on the initial Club Sign Up Form and may change it on your Club Account Control Panel. Player Webpages already connected to the Club Teams Web will be automatically updated with the new Club Connect Code if you choose to change the Code, so no current Player Webpages connections are broken. You may sort the order and choose to remove any of the player profiles on your "Player Pages" page directly.

Back to Questions

8) Sure! You can set the default display sort/order of your information tables for the Competitions, Workout, Forms, Booster Club, Blogs, and Links pages from their respective admin panels -- click on the Edit Content icon on your pages, then follow the different content admin links at the top to get to the page you want, and click on the "Categories" button to jump to the Information Table settings for sort/order. You can set the sort for new profiles linked to your Club Player Pages to be added to the top or the bottom directly from that page, and you may choose a custom order as well which you can specify using the "Up" and "Down" links located at the top of the profile pictures there. You can choose the sort/order of the display of the events on your Club Calendar from your Calendar Settings page (click on the admin link on our Calendar, then click the "Calendar Settings" link on the left links menu.

Users may sort/order the listings on the information tables for the Competitions, Workout, Forms, Booster Club, Blogs, and Links pages for themselves by clicking on the header links of the tables -- a double click on the links reverses the order. These sortings/orderings don't affect the default settings you set for the display as the admin..

Back to Questions

9) Yes, you can choose from one of 25 ready-to-use Gym Chat styles or you may make your very own unique one easily! Just go to your Styles Control Panel by clicking on the "Edit Style" icon located below your links menu on your webpages, and fill in the form there labeled "Create Custom" and click the "Update Style" button there at the bottom.

Back to Questions

10) You can choose which options you would like your Club Teams Web to be indexed by in the Gym Chat Find Club Search on your Club Account Control Panel -- check the boxes for the option under the "Include In Club Search" field that you would like to be indexed by: Club Name, Web Username, Web Title, City, State, and/or Country.

Back to Questions

11) You can set your Club Webpages Setting from you Account Control Panel, choose "Password Protect" or "Public". Password Protect means that visitors are prompted with a page to enter in the Club Access Password to gain access to the Club Teams Web; Public means anyone has access to the Club Teams Web and do not need to enter any code to go through the pages. You can set your Access Password initially from the Club Sign Up Form and then from your Account Control Panel as well, below the 'Webpages Setting" field.

Back to Questions

12) Sure, you can click on the "Tell Your Friends" button at the bottom of your Club Webpages and the link to the page you clicked from will automatically be displayed on your message to them and you may add your own message as well.

Back to Questions

13) You can choose your Time Zone Setting from your Account Control Panel; just choose your time zone from the menu to make it match your area, and click the "Update Account" button to update! Your timestamps for your messages will be automatically updated!

Back to Questions

14) If your contact information has changed, simply update it from your Account Control Panel page (just click on the "Edit Account" button from your webpages). This is especially important for updating your email address if it has changed, to make sure you receive important Gym Chat emails and that in case you have forgotten your password you can easily recover your password again by requesting it to be emailed to you from the "Forgot your Password" link on the Club Webs Login Box.

Back to Questions

15) If you forgot your password, just click on the "Forgot your Password" link on the Club Webs Login Box, and type in your email address on that page to get your password emailed to you.

Back to Questions

16) If you forget your Club Teams Web password and email address, you can contact admin@gymchat.com for help.

Back to Questions

17) You can include images and gif animations/videos throughout your teams web pages, like on your teams web homepage by creating a 'hyperlink' to it in any of your text boxes in your controlpanel. Here's how:

In your control panel for the page you want to add your media to, go to the text box section and click the button on the text box editor which is circled in the picture below:

text box editor

This will pop-up a window where you can insert the url of the media you would like to add.

hyperlink image pop-up

The media should appear in this window as you finish typing the url to it (like above example); if not, try clicking anywhere in the window once and make sure you haven't filled in a http' in the field because that would be an extra one - if still no image appears, this means either your url is incorrect or the server your media is on does not allow hyperlinking. Once the media appears, just click on it and then this pop-up will close and the media will be added to the text box you are on, where you can edit the size and placement of it!

Most club members use media urls off of their main club website, by right-clicking on the media, then clicking "Properties" on the pop-up menu, and then they copy the "Addres (URL)" property and paste it in this text box pop-up window. You can also upload media to your club teams web's Multimedia page - use the "Upload Media" button on your Multimedia page while logged on and fill in the pop-up form, then after your media has been uploaded to the page, double click on it to pop-up the actual size of the media, right click on this media to get the url as described and use it for inserting the media on your other club teams web pages! Any questions, please just ask!

Besides 'hyperlinking' to the media, you can directly upload your media onto your multimedia page and top header as well!
